Q: Question: I like to lead an organic lifestyle, so what are some natural things I can do to help my sore throat and cough?

A: Answer: There are plenty of natural things you can do to help diminish the pain of your sore throat and cough. Try gargling with warm salt water every three to four hours to reduce the swelling and soothe the tissues in the throat, which will help your throat feel better. You can also place a humidifier or vaporizer in your home to add moisture to the air because the drier the air, the worse your throat discomfort may be. Drink organic teas and broth-based soups, like chicken soup made with organic vegetables, which will ease the pain and keep your throat hydrated. Also try new Organix Cough and Sore Throat Drops, which are Certified USDA Organic and come in four great flavors. Made with organic peppermint oil, pectin and a blend of herbs that have been used for centuries to treat respiratory symptoms, these drops are naturally sweetened and do not contain any preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. Even the wrappers are made from fully compostable corn starch.
